Super Heroes

Super Heroes made today by my boy.
Can you tell who they are?
Ironman

Hulk as a Grandpa.  Notice the grey hair and the speech bubble.

Wasp boy or Wasp Man.  I can't remember.

Captain America out of costume except for his shield.

Oops.  I forgot this ones name.

Spiderman vs. the black Spiderman

Some Firsts

Seri is reading her first chapter book.
Cuddled up by the fire is her favorite place to read.  She is so proud of herself.

Jett drew Bert.
I found it on the counter this morning.
I love it.
He also has taped his first pictures and signs on their bedroom door.
Some say KEP OT
(that's "keep out" in kid writing)
Another one says
CAT PARTY.
Seri helped him with that one.
That boy.  He's hilarious.

My Little Artist

Some boys love sports.
Some boys love trains.
My boy loves art.
Drawing.
Painting.
Cutting.
Creating.
All day.  Every day.
We have creations on our walls, in frames, on the fridge and in scrapbooks.
He amazes me more and more everyday with what he creates at the age of 4.
Here are two things he created just this week:

1.  Fantastic Four Book
He made his own book (he broke our stapler so he hole punched and I helped tie the ribbons).  It was all about the characters of
Fantastic 4.

Seri helped write "flamse" and he was so mad that she spelled it wrong.  She was darn close.
Little does he know "stretch" is spelled wrong too.

 by Jett
This is the first time I have ever seen him draw a jet with his name.
 2.  Outer space
He started this yesterday in my classroom.  He found the star stickers in the treasure box and that must have triggered the picture.  He is studying space at preschool and was telling me all about constellations.  If you look closely, there is a constellation at the top of the picture.
I think this may be one of his best drawings yet.  It's definitely making it's way to the "art gallery" down our stairwell.
Can you find the sun?  Meteor?  Earth?  Rocket?  Planets? Constellation?
I love that he has a passion.
We go through ALOT of paper, tape, glue and markers.  I am constantly finding tape on my socks, pants, counters and floor.  Even though I can get frustrated with the mess he can make on the kitchen floor and our white table is stained with markers and paints, I wouldn't change anything.  I hope he continues to love being an artist.

Monday Craft

The other day while at the craft store the kids saw paper doilies.  They remembered our project from last year (check it out here) so we decided to try it again. I love how they look.

I love it.
Gives the kitchen some happy color.
They also had large hearts which I think I may use in the classroom.
Happy Monday!

The Octopus

Jett is a tad obsessed with the ocean right now.  One morning this week he woke up begging to paint.   Soooo we headed to the kitchen and created  what else?  An octupus, of course.

Can you find Jett in his sea of animals?
Funny boy.

The best thing...

for a little artist is
 markers in the bathtub!
This little man would stay in the bath
f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
if I let him.

Scooby, Shaggy and Velma

We get our fill of Scooby Doo in our house.
"Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you?" is constantly either in my head, being sung by Jett, being sung by me as I read the stories ( I just can't resist breaking out in song before or after I read) or on the TV.  We've got dolls, figurines, books and movies of dear old Velma, Fred, Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne.

This phase will pass, just like his infatuation with Sesame Street and Tinkerbell did.
*Although, Sesame Street is on the comeback around here lately.

This is Jett's creation he made this afternoon.

Shaggy, Scooby and Velma
*See Velma's glasses?

He was so proud.
Again, my little artist.

Another Masterpiece

Jett was at it again this afternoon painting another one of his creations.  I saw this adorable idea from whatever, loved it, and we tried it ourselves this afternoon.  Seri was more interested in playing today, than painting, so Jett and I painted together.  Just me and my little man painting together.  He had to dip the brush for me, of course.
He would paint a little, I would paint a little.  Loved it.
Memories.

Notice the snack.  This little artist can multi-task.

Love him.  Love his little creations.

My Artist

I have been home the last two days with a sick little boy. Yesterday was spent cuddling on the couch, wiping a snotty nose, giving breathing treatments and soothing a crying and sick 3 year old. When his fever spiked at 102 yesterday, I decided I needed to stay home yet again today. This afternoon he is feeling TONS better. One of his favorite things lately is to make things, especially since he has learned how to use scissors. He has been "creating" masks and a flag for almost two hours now. The kids have a craft cupboard in the kitchen filled with everything they could ever need. He is cutting, glueing, taping and drawing and completely content. All of his projects are for his favorite person right now...his wonderful Preschool Teacher/Daycare provider Kathy. He is so excited to take them to her tomorrow.

This is the mess Mama gets to clean up.
Seri taught him how to trace his hand. They are the gloves.
Here is his first flag...made all by himself. Stripes and all. He was so proud.
The mask. I help cut out the eyes, but he does the rest.

LOVE my little artist.
