Saturday

Jett woke up this morning at 5:15 this morning yelling "Mom, I'm ready to get dressed."
He had a birthday party to go to today and was SUPER excited.
The birthday party wasn't until 4:00.  Oh boy.

We ventured to my classroom so I could get somethings done. They couldn't wait to go.
They are so overwhelmed with all the things they can do there...art tables, computers, toys, the big easel, music and even a gym.

After the birthday party and baths, both kiddos were asleep by 7:15.
It was a good day.
Laundry tomorrow.
Blah.

Our Saturday...in pictures.

Our relaxing Saturday turned out to be exhausting.  Does that make sense?

Here was our day.
  • Slept in until 7:30.  YES!
  • cartoons
  • snuggles
  • coffee
  • hardware store
  • fabric store
  • dollar store
  • late breakfast
  • crafts
  • Install knobs and a few pulls on the kitchen cabinets
  • mow the lawn
  • yard work
  • lunch
  • created Grandy's Mother's Day Gifts
  • went on a walk
  • played outside
  • baths
  • dinner
  • stories
  • bed
Phew!  Our wonderful little Saturday has wore us out.  Love it.

Here is our day in pics.

Hand decorated dish towels and a handmade tote for Grandy.

This is my beloved hot glue gun.

Jett wanted pancakes for dinner and got everything ready
for me to make them.
Love, love, love those little feet.

Another wonderful day.

Lazy, Lazy, Lazy Saturday

Seri has been singing "It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring..." all day because it rained ALL DAY today.

Our plans of playing outside, yard work, learning how to ride bikes withought training wheels, were all put on hold today.
We stayed inside all day.

We raided the recycling bin and made some art including
The Very Hungry Caterpillar from one of our favorite books.

Seri then made a stage for a puppet theatre out of a cereal box.  Pretty cute.

Jett made an umbrella.

I made Gus a new bed today...for free.
Do you know how much dog beds cost these days?  Ridiculous.
2 blankets + 1down comforter + hot glue =
1 cozy dog bed for 1 happy dog

*Notice the all black jammies and black socks...even inside out.
He LOVES them.
He can be a cat one minute then batman the next.

Miss Mar came over for a movie.
We love having her.

"Auntie, I am so cozy with a blanket, a movie and a fire.  Aaah."

Cute Valentine Project

I saw a cute idea online to paint paper doilies and make them into a Valentine's banner/bunting.  (Are they the same thing?  I never know.)  After a trip to Walmart, we had a set of brightly color Crayola watercolors, new paint brushes that we needed desperately, white yarn and a pack of 20 doilies.
The three of us sat down at table and had fun
painting all different designs onto the doilies.

They didn't look very bright while they were drying on the table.  I was a little worried they looked too muted.  But, after I hung them up in the window, they were beautiful.

A little bit of a mess when we were through...but it
 cleans right up easily.
It doesn't show well in the pictures how vibrant the colors actually are once they are hanging in the window.

I used the sheets Seri painted to cut out hearts for their bedroom.  Can you tell she liked it?

Check out where I found this idea here.
