Our nice long weekend

We had 3 1/2 days of this weekend.
It was marvelous.
We teachers should have every Monday off.
That's a budget cut, right?

Jett went with my Dad to his first Sportsman show.  He caught two fish, saw bears and Papa bought him a corn dog.  Needless to say he was beaming when I picked him up.  Nothing sweeter to watch him walking hand in hand with my Dad.  This was the first time he got to go somewhere with Papa all by himself.  He was so excited and they were so cute together.
The rest of our weekend we stayed home.
We love being home.
We played, did laundry, organized, cleaned, relaxed, cuddled, read books, watched movies and played outside.
It sounds like a lot but it was just what we needed.

We were so busy doing nothing that the camera didn't even make it out of the drawer.

We did head to the park yesterday afternoon.
The kids were so excited to use their bikes and scooters.

Soccer starts for Seri in a few weeks.  I tried to have some serious practicing, but my little lady couldn't help but giggle and beg to go play.  So...I'm not so sure if she got anything out of our practice.

In preparation for spirit day (Cowboys and Cowgirls) I brought the boots in from outside for a cleaning.  They are now ready to go.
Yee Ha!
Here is one of our favorite places for all of us...Mama's bed.
We seem to be here every night for stories and again every morning for cuddles.
I love it and obviously so does everybody else.

Good night my little man and sweet girl.

Lastly...I want this phone.
Seriously.  Awesome.  I will have it.  Soon.

Monday. A Better Day.

My goal for today was for a better day.
A better day than yesterday.
Anything better than yesterday.

God gave me a sense of "calm" when I woke up this morning and I knew I was going to feel a little better today.  I have had my moments with tears but nothing like yesterday.  I was actually able to talk about Gus and celebrate how wonderful he was.
I miss him.  I miss him at night more than ever.  We spent our nights together.  He always laid by me...close enough to touch.  I am having a hard time realizing he is never coming back.

We visited the ArtsVan that travels around to local parks during the summer.  We created a poster illustrating a way to improve our earth.
Seri is going to plant flowers.
Jett is going to plant apple trees.

Then we were off to the library.

Followed by swimming.

Yes, my boy wears pink floaties.  Safety over Style.

Before heading home we went to swing.

After dinner we ventured out on our
first official bike ride.
Picture us...
Seri was in the front on her bike.
I followed on my bike pulling the bike trailer with Jett and Henry.  Yes, Henry came in the trailer with Jett.  Pretty funny.  He barked the WHOLE time.
So there we were.  The 4 of us riding together.  Seri was SO proud of herself riding her bike.  She was also SO proud of me pulling the trailer and riding behind her.   Honestly I was proud of myself.  That trailer is HEAVY!  I am sure I will be sore in the morning.
Jett would've fallen asleep if it wasn't for Henry walking all over him and barking.
It was a little crazy.  But it was fun.  The feeling of riding on a cool summer evening was nice.
I loved it.

So, today was a better day than yesterday.
I pray tomorrow will be even better.

Beautiful Day.

It was beautiful today.
We were out and enjoying the weather
early this morning.

There was bike riding,

Lawn mowing
Sprinklers
Popsicles
  and Yard Work
Seri gets excited to help pull grass
from the front walkway.
She loves it and so do I.
Another wonderful summer day.
What day is it?
I am starting to forget.
A true sign it's summer.
