Happy Monday

Jett brought Share Bear from preschool home for the week. We have been planning all of our fun activities so he can have a lot of fun while he is with us.  He, along with all of our other teddy bears, had dinner at the table tonight.  I didn't have a chair but that's ok.
They all joined us for a "bear" movie tonight too.
I think it's going to be a "beary" good week.
Ha.
Miss Seri got 100% on her spelling test.
A shout out to Dad for helping her on her spelling.
She likes how he teaches her better than me.
I think she has had enough of  Mama Teacher sometimes.
Ha.

I fought the vacuum.

And I won.
So, apparently my vacuum hasn't been working well, hence the tremendous amount of hair in my house.  After complaining about my vacuum to my dear mother, she let me know I needed a new belt.
She even went and got it for me.  Love her.
Well, a new belt was the answer.
I vacuumed for hours today.  No joke.
It was frightening how much was coming up.  YIKES.
Clean freak Mama is feeling so much better.

I even vacuumed Clara.  Well, I tried.  She didn't like it.

My little man doesn't like to smile for pics anymore.
Friday was Western Day at school.
She is a cute little cowgirl.
We went to breakfast for my brother's birthday this morning.  Seri adores him.
They played tic-tac-toe all morning.
Jett and Marli got a hold of my phone.
Those two are quite the pair.
I found this pic along with MANY others on my phone tonight.
Miss Mar knows exactly how I feel about Sunday nights.  Blah.

Freakin' Hair Everywhere!

Having a dog in the house, let alone two, I am bound to have dog hair.  I have had a dog for 13 years and have never minded it. Nothing a little vacuuming can't fix. Well...Miss Clara is shedding.  Not just a little.  A LOT!
(I'm filling this blog with random garden pics to raise my spirits.)

I don't know what is going on but it's everywhere and I can't control it.  It's driving this clean freak mama CrAzY!  It's on our rugs, on our clothes and the worst is Jett's fro. Yes, he is growing a fro.  He wants it HUGE.  That's a whole other story.  But his head of curly hair attracts dog hair. Nothing like picking out yellow dog hair from your son's hair, especially while walking down the sidewalk to preschool.  Pinned Image
Someday it will be funny I'm sure, but for now it's driving me nuts.

I hope this is just a faze.  I keep brushing her but it doesn't seem to be getting better.  The vacuum is tired of it too because it doesn't want to pick it up anymore.
Holy crap!

Our nice long weekend

We had 3 1/2 days of this weekend.
It was marvelous.
We teachers should have every Monday off.
That's a budget cut, right?

Jett went with my Dad to his first Sportsman show.  He caught two fish, saw bears and Papa bought him a corn dog.  Needless to say he was beaming when I picked him up.  Nothing sweeter to watch him walking hand in hand with my Dad.  This was the first time he got to go somewhere with Papa all by himself.  He was so excited and they were so cute together.
The rest of our weekend we stayed home.
We love being home.
We played, did laundry, organized, cleaned, relaxed, cuddled, read books, watched movies and played outside.
It sounds like a lot but it was just what we needed.

We were so busy doing nothing that the camera didn't even make it out of the drawer.

We did head to the park yesterday afternoon.
The kids were so excited to use their bikes and scooters.

Soccer starts for Seri in a few weeks.  I tried to have some serious practicing, but my little lady couldn't help but giggle and beg to go play.  So...I'm not so sure if she got anything out of our practice.

In preparation for spirit day (Cowboys and Cowgirls) I brought the boots in from outside for a cleaning.  They are now ready to go.
Yee Ha!
Here is one of our favorite places for all of us...Mama's bed.
We seem to be here every night for stories and again every morning for cuddles.
I love it and obviously so does everybody else.

Good night my little man and sweet girl.

Lastly...I want this phone.
Seriously.  Awesome.  I will have it.  Soon.

My Star of the Week

Jett is the STAR OF THE WEEK at preschool this week.  His poster hangs in the hallway outside his classroom.
We are all so proud of him, especially his Mama.
Man, he is cute.

Valentine's Prep

This weekend I prepped for Valentine's Day.  The kids and I made over 60 Valentines between Seri's class, Jett's daycare and his preschool class.
Phew!

We made yummy treats today too to send to teachers and neighbors.
I put glowsticks in the kids bathtub tonight for a fun bath to start the week.
They loved it.

This week is going to be CrAzY busy but I am looking forward to a 3 1/2 day weekend.

Little things

Enjoy the little things,
for one day you may look back
and realize they were the big things.
Robert Brault

Today we stayed home sick...my boy and I.  We snuggled under our favorite blanket and watched cartoons.  I snapped this picture while he was on my lap.  He looks so much like he did at six months to me.  My baby...getting so big. As we snuggled I thought to myself, I hope I never forget how this feels.  The way we fit together so perfectly when we "snuggle up" as he calls it.
I have been looking at him lately and getting teary eyed.
He is closing in on 5.
5 is so big.
I don't want him to be big.

Super Bowl!

We had our own little
Super Bowl
party this afternoon.
This was the first time we have watched it together.  Ever.  This is pretty crazy because my Dad was a football coach and I grew up watching it.
It was fun to talk with them about it and try to explain things.
We were rooting for the Giants.
There was some dancing when they won!

 They even made signs.

P.S.  I used to hate carnations, but these beauties are growing on me.
They look so cute on our table.

Father/Daughter Dance

Seri was OVER THE MOON to go to the Father/Daughter dance with her Daddy.
 She looks so grown up.

This is their second year going.  I hope she thinks it is this fun every year and never grows "to cool" to go.

Parent Volunteer

On Monday I got to be a parent volunteer for the first time.  For 11 years I have had parent volunteers in my classroom and have appreciated all of their help.  Today I got to help in Jett's classroom.  He was so excited and so proud to have me there.  We sat together during calendar, did centers together, read books together, had snack and played outside.  I had so much fun meeting all of his friends that he talks about and loved learning his routine so I can ask him more detailed questions about his day.
