Mom, this is how much I love you.

Tonight as Jett is drawing on his chalkboard he says, "Mom, this is how much I love you."
He draws a huge pink heart as big as he can.
He points to it with a HUGE grin and says,
"Mom, that's how much I love you."

::may I never forget these moments::

I really want a large world map for the basement or the stairway leading down to the basement.
Maybe I should swipe one from school?  There's got to be a million of them somewhere.  Must find.

Would be so cute on the couch in February...or anytime.

Saw this idea to have no shams, toss pillows etc. on the bed.
Just the two pillows and a big bolster.
IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FASTER TO MAKE THE BED.
Love this one.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this sign.
LOVE IT!

Seri's time at the salon

Well, not a real salon.  But, I sure felt like a beautician with my plastic gloves, all natural ingredients and comb.  I decided to put an all natural deep conditioner on Seri's hair this weekend.  As many of you already know and have witnessed, Seri has a HUGE amount of beautiful curly hair.  Through the years as she has gotten older it has become a struggle to keep moisturized and tangle free, especially with going to school this year.  She is one tough cookie when I comb through it small sections at a time.  I was VERY nervous applying the mixture onto her hair, envisioning all her hair falling out.  (Crazy, I know.)  But, after 12 precise minutes of waiting, it turned out perfect.  It has the same nice beautiful curls but is 10x softer.  Tonight after her shower I could actually comb though it easily!
We were both sooooo excited.
She was loving the ease of me combing through it and how it laid down more instead of poofing out.  (I LOVE her hair, but she isn't as in love with it as her Mama.)  I know it is probably hard to tell the difference, but if you could feel it...WOW!  I can almost run my fingers through it...when it's wet.

We conditioned her hair before she went on her date with
Daddy to the Father/Daughter dance.
 Anyone see the difference?
Now I think we do need to head to the salon to trim some LONG pieces.  She has only ever had 1 slight trim.  Amazing, huh?
Her beautiful hair looks so much healthier.
Definitely a success!

P.S.  Did you ever have one of these?
Ok, so I found this nightgown/robe at the Goodwill this weekend.  I sooooo remember having one when I was little.  I had to get it for her, of course.  (only $1.99)  She was so excited to wear it, especially after I told her I had one almost exactly like it when I was little.  I think mine was pink.
Anyone else have one like this?

Just Dance

Yes, this is one of the reasons I love teaching Kindergarten.
Dance breaks.
You have to motivate them somehow, right?

Yep, that's right.  There's more.
I had to get all my cuties in the movie.
Hilarious.
Oh...to be 5 again.

Look what I found.

As I was getting out our Valentine's stuff, I came across this picture I took 2 years ago for a Valentine's Day card.

 ::tear::  ::sigh::  ::deep breath::

It was from the days of working part-time.
When I had more time with my kiddos and less time at work.
Seri was 4 and Jett was 22 months.
It seems like yesterday and forever ago all at the same time.
I miss those days.
Why are they growing up so fast?

This is for you Karla.

Gus wanted me to tell you that I brushed him today
and THANK YOU for the delicious bone.
Big man is looking a lot better.

My New Green Chair

What do you think of my new APPLE GREEN chair?  A Salvation Army find for a mere $10.00.  It is in great shape.  A little febreeze, a wipe down, new fabric underneath, felt pads for the feet and we now have an adorable little vintage touch in our living room.  LOVE.

I still can't decide exactly where to put it and what pillows to put on it.  But, for today it is living under our big front window.  I love the color and personality it adds to the room.

I can't decide how I like it either.

No pillows?

Brown pillow?

Turquoise pillow?

Or both?

Swishers Came to Town

We were so lucky to have our good friends come to visit us this weekend.  True friends are hard to come by and we have found them in the Swishers.
2 Mamas and 4 kids had a blast going to the park TWICE, spending a lot of the time at the dinner table (kind of like a circus getting everyone to sit down and eat), playing, dressing up and enjoying our time together. Karla is an amazing Mama of 23 month old twins.  They are the sweetest, well behaved, adorable little blessings.

Lots of pictures.  Lots of fun.

I am in love with these shoes.
I sooooo wish I had a pair.

Thanks Karla for taking pictures of us.
Mama never gets in the pic.

These two girlies are best friends.
They were inseparable all weekend.

We had a wonderful weekend with wonderful friends.

Hugs and Kisses Swisher Family.
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Our Favorite Winter Stories

I like to keep seasonal picture books on our coffee table...that's the "teacher" in me.
Here are of few of our favorites we have been
reading on these cold winter nights.
Sneezy the Snowman is adorable.  It's a new one this year.

The Snowy Day is one of my all time favorites.
Jett has his own little Peter doll he loves to
snuggle with during the story.

Scooby, Shaggy and Velma

We get our fill of Scooby Doo in our house.
"Scooby Dooby Doo, Where are you?" is constantly either in my head, being sung by Jett, being sung by me as I read the stories ( I just can't resist breaking out in song before or after I read) or on the TV.  We've got dolls, figurines, books and movies of dear old Velma, Fred, Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne.

This phase will pass, just like his infatuation with Sesame Street and Tinkerbell did.
*Although, Sesame Street is on the comeback around here lately.

This is Jett's creation he made this afternoon.

*See Velma's glasses?

He was so proud.
Again, my little artist.
