Sunday. A Fun Day.

We spent most of our day with cousins filled with riding bikes, the slip-n-slide, popsicles, chalk, kickball, dancing, dinner and ice cream.    As Seri said as we were driving home tonight, " Mom, today was so much fun."
It was a successful summer day.

Jett has graduated to a "big boy" bike.  He was suuuper excited to try it out.

Tai and Jett are two peas in a pod.
Pretty cute.

I had to laugh this afternoon while Jett was learning to ride his bike.  Those who know me well know how "cautious" and "protective" I can be with the kiddos and in life.  Well, my son has inherited these qualities.  Notice how sssslllloooowww he is riding his bike.
Pretty funny.

Diamond Lake

We have spent the last week with my family on vacation at Diamond Lake.
Relaxing.  Playing.  Laughing.  Tubing.  Swimming.  Dancing.  Cooking.
Soaking up the sun.
Enjoying our time together.
7 kids.
5 adults.
8 wonderful days.

The car ride was llloooonnnngggg, but I loved seeing the wind farms.
They are amazing.

We had a fun 4th of July
and snuggled on the dock to watch fireworks.

This little man was my side kick all week.  Seri spent ALOT of her time with the "big" kids swimming, tubing and riding bikes.  My little man and I played on the small beach, colored and rode on the boat.

 Nightly Dance competitions.

 Seri caught her first fish!

Another great vacation.

She did it!

Seri learned how to ride a bike...in literally less than 5 minutes.  She hopped on and off she went.  Marli learned how to ride her bike yesterday so there was a little motivation/competition.  She spent the whole afternoon riding around and around the cul-da-sac at Auntie and Uncles...in her swimsuit of course.
We were all so proud of her.
She was beaming ear to ear the whole time yelling, "Look!  I can do it!"
There was slip-n-slides and snow cones
between riding.

We signed up for the library summer reading program this morning.
We have our routine of 30 minutes of writing and 30 minutes of reading times in place and
they started today with all smiles from Seri.
Jett is practicing quiet time on his bed with books for 15 minutes.
We'll see if we can stick to it.

All in all...it was a wonderful start to our first week of summer.

Lazy, Lazy, Lazy Saturday

Seri has been singing "It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring..." all day because it rained ALL DAY today.

Our plans of playing outside, yard work, learning how to ride bikes withought training wheels, were all put on hold today.
We stayed inside all day.

We raided the recycling bin and made some art including
The Very Hungry Caterpillar from one of our favorite books.

Seri then made a stage for a puppet theatre out of a cereal box.  Pretty cute.

Jett made an umbrella.

I made Gus a new bed today...for free.
Do you know how much dog beds cost these days?  Ridiculous.
2 blankets + 1down comforter + hot glue =
1 cozy dog bed for 1 happy dog

*Notice the all black jammies and black socks...even inside out.
He LOVES them.
He can be a cat one minute then batman the next.

Miss Mar came over for a movie.
We love having her.

"Auntie, I am so cozy with a blanket, a movie and a fire.  Aaah."

Happy Halloween!

Jett looked pretty cute in my wig. Yes, a wig and sunglasses is as "festive" as Mama got. They thought I was hilarious. They kept asking me if I still had my old hair. Ha!

Look at that cute booty!
Cheers to a great dinner by Mama and Auntie...mummy hotdogs, pumpkin face pizzas and witches brew to drink, including witch fingers and worms. SO MUCH FUN!

Happy Halloween!
