Man I LOVE this guy!

I love his smiles, his giggle, his hugs, his kisses, his hilarious sense of humor, his questions, his outlook on life. I am so blessed to be his Mama.

Finally...

My plan of attack today was to skip nap time and play outside all afternoon in the sprinkler in hopes my two little people would be exhausted and fall asleep early. A quiet evening was needed by Mama. Now... I have tried this many times before and it would usually backfire with a overly tired and cranky little boy. Well, tonight it FINALLY worked. I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying my garden and lawn I worked so hard on today while they were in the sprinkler. Something so serene about a summer evening with all the windows open, light breeze blowing, Coldplay playing and two little ones fast asleep.
Sooo....
BIBLE SCHOOL + SUNSHINE + PICNIC + SPRINKLER + POPSICLES + ERRANDS WITH MAMA + BATH + PIZZA + MOVIE + STORY + HUGS + KISSES = ASLEEP BEFORE 7:30
I love summer!

Note: I took some pictures of my sweet little girl sleeping but she had one eye peeking open, which looked quite creepy to be honest. So, Jett is the only one that made it on the blog today.

Summer Evenings

After the kids were in their jammies we went on a walk around our beautiful neighborhood tonight. They snuggled up and I enjoyed the fresh air, the smell of bbq's and admiring everyone's amazing homes and gardens. Gotta LOVE summer nights.

Muscle Man

Look at those muscles!

Best hair-doers!

Seri had a slumber party with my niece Marli last night. They have been DYING to have one and last night it finally happened. They play so well together, especially when they can play without any brothers or sisters bugging them. Here is a funny conversation my sister passed on to me from this morning while she was doing their hair...in matching braids, of course.

Marli says, "Ooh, Seri your hair looks so beautiful, like a princess." Seri says, "Thanks, Mar-Mar. Your hair looks pretty, too." Marli adds, "Seri, when we're bigger we can do our make-up like rock-n-roll princesses and our hair can look like Barbie's hair, but bigger." Seri giggles and says, "Yeah, but our mom's can still do our hair when we're big girls, huh?" Marli said, "You bet! Our mom's are the best hair-doers!"

Love it.

I had this bright idea this spring to plant moss in my favorite planter. It has become my favorite with it's bright green color. It is even starting to bloom tiny white flowers. Love it.

Cutie Pies

Jett's napping and these two cutie pies are having a ball in the backyard. As I was soaking up some sun, I was listening to them play. A conversation between a 4 1/2 year old and a 6 year old is hilarious and quite entertaining, especially when they think you aren't listening. Oh to be little again spending your afternoon gallivanting around the backyard in your swimsuit, swinging on the swing set with a popsicle and your best friend.
Memories.

Raisins

This evening, Seri and Jett were in the bath tub and as I walked to get jammies, I noticed my bedroom door was shut, which is weird. I opened it and see our little kitten, Rose, asleep by a pile of raisins on the floor. I ask, "Jett, why is there a pile of raisins on my floor?" He yells from the bathtub "I wuz twying to feed du kitties." I ask, “What would happen if Rose ate the raisins?" trying to get him to understand she could get sick. He answers, "She would turn into a waizen."

I giggle to myself and feed the raisins to the dogs.
This is my life.

Ice Cream for Dinner

My wonderful sister has started a tradition to have ice cream for dinner to celebrate the first day of summer. Yes, we are a family of teachers ( 2 kindergarten, 1 high school history and 1 elementary principal) and we are SO ready for summer! We forgot Jett's swimsuit, sooooo he went in his undies. Note: He has to wear his underwear backwards so he can see the pictures. He also says he needs room for his weiner.
Oh, the joys of being a Mama to a little boy.

Yep, that's my boy wearing backwards underwear and Jordans. So proud.

Seri and my neice Marli are quite the pair. These two are cousins AND best friends. Ice cream dinner on the swing-set together. Life is good.

Summer has begun!

Rose and Edna

Here they are...Rose and Edna. Our newest additions to our family.

Our Saturday Adventure

Today we took a day trip to an adorable little Children's Museum in Pasco. It was a beautiful day to take a drive and the kids had so much fun exploring. Seri's favorite was the princess dress-up and stage. Jett's was definately the train table. We had so much fun playing in the little kitchen, taking the bus to school, performing a puppet show, delivering mail in the post office, building a house with HUGE blocks, having pizza in the pretend pizzeria and much more. My goal this summer is to make more day trips with my two favorite little people. We had a blast! His little mouth open is a sure sign he is concentrating.
Doesn't he make a cute princess!

Seri made me some wonderful meals.

Watch out!

Such a fun Saturday afternoon!

Good night little man.

There are SO many things I do now as a Mama that I SWORE I would never do. I always thought my children would go to bed easily, which has somewhat been true for 3 years. Seri is a champ. She is wore out by the end of her day and is asleep within minutes of 7:00. Jett used to go to bed that easily. These days it's a chore to get him to settle down and fall asleep. In and out of bed, potty 2 to 3 times, a drink, wants Henry to sleep with him and on and on. Now it seems like he is making a habit of falling asleep while snuggling with Mom, something I said my children would never do but when you're desperate, it works. Sooooo, needless to say Jett's bed routine is on my summer to do list, but for now this is how it is.
Good night little man.

*Notice his "nigh nights" that he takes everywhere. One is perfectly folded and placed under his head turned just the right way so he can rub his little fingers in the fold. (He started this himself). The bigger one must be over him, which doesn't cover all of my little man like it used to.

Here's proof.

Here's proof he loves his chair! As I was trying to frantically get out the door this morning, he begged to have his picture taken in his chair. I couldn't resist...he is just too adorable.

little blue rocking chair

I bought a little rocking chair at my neighbor's yard sale a few week's back. It cost me only $2.00. Jett loves sitting in it and reading his books in the living room. After finding the perfect spray paint color, it is now a little blue rocking chair that only cost me a total of $5.00. Cute.

I love peonies.

I have been waiting for my peonies to bloom. I was excited to have a peony bush in the new backyard and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival. Today I ventured out and cut the first two blooms for the house. It's amazing how looking at a freshly cut peony sitting in the kitchen window sill will make doing the dishes so much more enjoyable. I love peonies.
