Ice Cream for Dinner

My wonderful sister has started a tradition to have ice cream for dinner to celebrate the first day of summer. Yes, we are a family of teachers ( 2 kindergarten, 1 high school history and 1 elementary principal) and we are SO ready for summer! We forgot Jett's swimsuit, sooooo he went in his undies. Note: He has to wear his underwear backwards so he can see the pictures. He also says he needs room for his weiner.
Oh, the joys of being a Mama to a little boy.

Yep, that's my boy wearing backwards underwear and Jordans. So proud.

Seri and my neice Marli are quite the pair. These two are cousins AND best friends. Ice cream dinner on the swing-set together. Life is good.

Summer has begun!

Rose and Edna

Here they are...Rose and Edna. Our newest additions to our family.

Our Saturday Adventure

Today we took a day trip to an adorable little Children's Museum in Pasco. It was a beautiful day to take a drive and the kids had so much fun exploring. Seri's favorite was the princess dress-up and stage. Jett's was definately the train table. We had so much fun playing in the little kitchen, taking the bus to school, performing a puppet show, delivering mail in the post office, building a house with HUGE blocks, having pizza in the pretend pizzeria and much more. My goal this summer is to make more day trips with my two favorite little people. We had a blast! His little mouth open is a sure sign he is concentrating.
Doesn't he make a cute princess!

Seri made me some wonderful meals.

Watch out!

Such a fun Saturday afternoon!

Good night little man.

There are SO many things I do now as a Mama that I SWORE I would never do. I always thought my children would go to bed easily, which has somewhat been true for 3 years. Seri is a champ. She is wore out by the end of her day and is asleep within minutes of 7:00. Jett used to go to bed that easily. These days it's a chore to get him to settle down and fall asleep. In and out of bed, potty 2 to 3 times, a drink, wants Henry to sleep with him and on and on. Now it seems like he is making a habit of falling asleep while snuggling with Mom, something I said my children would never do but when you're desperate, it works. Sooooo, needless to say Jett's bed routine is on my summer to do list, but for now this is how it is.
Good night little man.

*Notice his "nigh nights" that he takes everywhere. One is perfectly folded and placed under his head turned just the right way so he can rub his little fingers in the fold. (He started this himself). The bigger one must be over him, which doesn't cover all of my little man like it used to.

Here's proof.

Here's proof he loves his chair! As I was trying to frantically get out the door this morning, he begged to have his picture taken in his chair. I couldn't resist...he is just too adorable.

little blue rocking chair

I bought a little rocking chair at my neighbor's yard sale a few week's back. It cost me only $2.00. Jett loves sitting in it and reading his books in the living room. After finding the perfect spray paint color, it is now a little blue rocking chair that only cost me a total of $5.00. Cute.

I love peonies.

I have been waiting for my peonies to bloom. I was excited to have a peony bush in the new backyard and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival. Today I ventured out and cut the first two blooms for the house. It's amazing how looking at a freshly cut peony sitting in the kitchen window sill will make doing the dishes so much more enjoyable. I love peonies.
