Clara

Miss Clara (or Clara Bell according to Jett) came to visit us today to see how she would fit into our family.  She is a 4 year old yellow lab who went from living on a large farm to living in a small trailer.  Her owner knew she needed a better home than she could give her. After many months of searching local shelters and praying to find the right dog for us, I think we may finally have found the one.  Our day with Clara couldn't have gone better.  She hopped into the back of my car like she had ridden there a million times before.  She followed me around all day while I was cleaning.  We went on a walk, played outside and she was excited to meet the kids when they came home from seeing their Grammie and Boppa.
Seri was the most excited saying,
"She is perfect Mom. I'm so glad you found her!"

We still have a few days to make our decision but so far so good.

She is currently cuddled up with Jett in bed.
Sweet.

First Grade Christmas Program

Seri had her Christmas program last night.
One of her favorite things is to get all dressed up, so last night she was beaming.

"Mom, I had a nightmare that my glitter on my shoes all wore off."
Can you tell she was nervous for her speaking part?
She did did a wonderful job.  So proud of her!
My sweet girl.

Our week. Lots of Pictures. Beware.

This week was busy.
The kids painted their ornaments they created last week after school one day.

I love Mod Podge.
Jett is so proud of his Santa.
It still amazes me.
We had so much fun finishing it off with glitter.
I'm in love with Jett's snowman and
Seri's tree turned reindeer after she painted it.
Their hand prints turned out adorable.
I did a lot of Christmas shopping online and the boxes have started to arrive.

Jett had his Christmas program this week.  His goal was to participate.  He wasn't too excited.  I don't think our boy is going to be a performer.  He did a great job.  He didn't sing much but he at least stood there quietly.  That is BIG for him.

I love this picture because he never slows down.
Jett's art hanging outside his classroom.
Today was a day of laundry, play and relaxing.

I found these sweet little ornaments.
Jett and Seri were so excited to open them this morning for their advent gift.

First Christmas without my brown man.
Miss him still everyday.
Look who did the laundry without being asked.  BIG PROGRESS!
We were so lucky to get a house with a pencil sharpener.  Don't be jealous.
I left it up.  It makes me laugh, especially how high up it is placed.
It's actually very handy to have.
Now that Seri has homework, we use it a lot.

The big red pillow BALL is my thrift store find this week.  Love it.

There was a Santa band performance this afternoon.  Jett on drums (with spoons as drumsticks since he can't find his) and Seri was the singer.
Santa came to town and we had to visit him.
Jett asked for 100 books, art stuff and Rudolph.
Seri asked for a ballerina outfit for
her and her doll.

Jett went right to work writing Santa a letter when we got home.

I love the holiday season, especially experiencing it through the eyes of my little ones.
One busy week is done.
Tomorrow starts another one.
5 more days until 14 days off.
Hallelujah.

Sunday...in pictures

Jett put his new wrapping paper to use and wrapped up his own toys for himself.  SURPRISE!

Early grocery store shopping resulted in donuts.
I love how my boy eats donuts.  He goes for the frosting and leaves the rest.

 Beautiful outside.
My girl raked and raked and raked leaves to pile high in front of the slide.

 Ornament making.
A shout out to Karla for the idea!
I did their handprints and they created the rest.
This is Jett's Santa which I adore...the belt, the buckle, the boots, the hat and the HUGE smile.  LOVE.  He is going to be so cute after he is painted.
 Yep, we did Henry's paw.
Off to the light parade!

Yep, Henry came too.  Bundled up in his coat and a blanket.  Spoiled.

All bundled up.

Christmas stories by the fire to end the night.
My favorite.
Happy Sunday.
