Monday Craft

The other day while at the craft store the kids saw paper doilies.  They remembered our project from last year (check it out here) so we decided to try it again. I love how they look.

I love it.
Gives the kitchen some happy color.
They also had large hearts which I think I may use in the classroom.
Happy Monday!

One more day.

It's been a nice relaxing weekend and we still have one more day.  Aaaah.  So nice.
I made them pancakes using their favorite color.  Jett's was supposed to be red, not pink.

Seri loves blue...like her Mama.
Paperwhites.
My favorite.
We were out of band aids so Mama had to make a homemade one.
 Our poor cats.
I cleaned all the projects off the fridge.
We can see the alphabet again.
I have kept Seri's snowman from Kindergarten out in hopes it would bring snow.  NO SNOW.  We have had no snow since November.  It has been such a strange winter.

Tonight I noticed I take a lot of pictures of Seri right here.  Why?  We have a mirror on the wall and she is constantly dancing in front of it.
Jett found Scout at the Goodwill  yesterday and has carried him everywhere since (after a good cleaning, of course.)  $1.00 has brought a lot of fun already.
Thank you cards were finally written.
I went a little crazy in the dollar section at Michaels.  They have the cutest cards, wrapping paper and journals right now.
Clara is still staring at shadows.  Wherever we are, she is with us, usually in the corner staring.
 Henry needs a haircut.
That boy can grow some hair.
 Don't you love the outfit?

I thought I would do a little project this afternoon.  After I saw these little letters were on sale, we headed to the store to pick them up to find out all the E's were sold.  Soooo my project is on hold.
Can you figure out what it is supposed to say?

It is so nice to have no
"Sunday night blues".
It's even better to have
one more day.

Did you know?

Did you know I love to snack on these cuties all day?  Yum.
Did you know that we have a HUGE goldfish that lives in a jar in the kitchen?
Her name is Norma.
She stares at me when I am doing the dishes.
Did you know I am starting a rock collection?  These have been made for me by my little artist.  They all say Mom on the back.
I will keep them forever.
Did you know that I love to have my fingernails painted but haven't in years because they chip literally the same day I paint them?
Well...I had them "shalaced" (spelling??) and I am on day 3 and NO chipping.
Painted fingernails make me smile.
Did you know we are still in love with Clara?  Even though she barks in the car AND she tripped me the other day on our walk as she was trying to bark at dogs on both sides of the street.  People saw and didn't ask if I was OK.  I was, of course.
Clara's new collar came today.  Turquoise polka dots with a pink buckle.  She likes it.  Looks good on her while she stares at shadows.
Thank you Etsy.
Did you know that we now have a Money Making Machine in our hallway?  It's pretty sweet.  You put dollars in and out comes change.  We are going to use it when we fly to Florida to see the ocean.  This is all according to Jett.
Did you know I finally persuaded my parents to let me babysit their treadmill?  It now lives in my basement and I have used it 7 out of the 9 days of January.  Love it.  Tonight the kids did their "homework" as I walked.
Did you know we have a 3 1/2 day weekend?  I can't wait.

Goodbye 2011

We celebrated our way out of 2011 and into 2012 with dancing, hats, horns, poppers, a movie, streamers, caramel corn and ice cream...until 9:00.  That's LATE around here people!

Right before bed I let them go outside and blow their horns and celebrate!

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Goodbye 2011
Hello 2012

The Octopus

Jett is a tad obsessed with the ocean right now.  One morning this week he woke up begging to paint.   Soooo we headed to the kitchen and created  what else?  An octupus, of course.

Can you find Jett in his sea of animals?
Funny boy.

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful week preparing for Christmas.  It is soooo nice to be able to be home for two weeks with my little ones.

We have decided to keep Miss Clara.
She has been a perfect fit into our family.  A wonderful Christmas present.

The kids helped make the tags for our family presents.

I made homemade cinnamon rolls again.
A new tradition.
On Christmas Eve evening we headed to my parents for our family Christmas.

The craziness of opening is about to begin.
So fun to watch their excitement.
My Dad bought us all matching hats.  Hilarious and random.  That's my Dad.  Kids wore Santa hats.  The girls got antlers and the boys were pirates.
 My brother, the pirate.
Arrrrr!

 My Dad...a.k.a. Papa.

Grandy got Seri a new vanity for her room.
She got to see a picture of it before it came to our house.  She is going to LOVE it.
Miss Riley with her funny new nutcracker.
(Ugh.  She is getting so big.)
All in all it was a marvelous LATE night together. We headed home, exhausted but excited for Santa to come.

Amazingly, we didn't all get up until 8:30.  We had a slumber party in my room which helped us all sleep in.
 Santa brought Jett a giraffe.
 And Seri a ballet outfit.
 Presents were opened.

The kids even made me a present.  Love them.
The rest of the day we relaxed and played with all the kid's new things.
Santa also brought us new art supplies and organization.  Love that Santa.

Jett has been BEGGING for a fish tank.
Holy Christmas mess!
The one day a year that this is ok.

Seri and her doll have matching clothes and pajamas.  She has been sooo funny with her.
They are always together.
She wanted me to take these pictures of them.  Silly.

It was a Very Merry Christmas in our home.
We are so blessed.
